by Carolyne Volpe Curley / Carolyne@WestEssexNOW.com Published 10:35am ![]() LIVINGSTON, NJ - The family members of Brendan Tevlin are more determined than ever to see that the memory of his short, but meaningful, life outshines the circumstances of his tragic, and senseless, death. Tevlin graduated from Seton Hall Preparatory School in 2013. During his tenure at the school he was an active member of the student body and participated on the Lacrosse Team, the Ambassador's Club, the Knights of Setonia, the Math and Spanish Honor Societies and he was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. In addition, Tevlin's time at the Prep was also well-remembered by his role as President of the Gaelic Club and as being the recipient of the Monsignor Tuohy Award for having achieved a GPA of over 4.0 for all four years at Seton Hall. After his graduation from the Prep, Tevlin went on to the University of Richmond where he was a member of the school's Lacrosse Club. In an effort to ensure Tevlin's life has a lasting impact on the community, his family has established a fund at Seton Hall Prep in his honor: the Brendan Patrick Tevlin '13 Memorial Fund. Brendan's uncle, Patrick Tevlin, is co-chairing the fundraising project along with another uncle, Doug McNulty. "Brendan's last wish was to play pick-up lacrosse games The field Brendan played on at Seton Hall Prep, and which would be named after him, is used for football, soccer, lacrosse and track and field events at the Kelly Athletic Complex. The fund will be used in the future to keep up the field's improvements. Patrick Tevlin referred to the field as a "peaceful reminder of Brendan and the times he spent there." ![]() Donations Gifts of cash and checks are the easiest and most common method of supporting any donations to Seton Hall Prep but there are many ways to donate to the Brendan Patrick Tevlin '13 Memorial Fund:
