Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea Annual Concert at Notre Dame Church: 7:30pm, Sunday, Dec. 20; 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell
NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - Notre Dame will present The Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea this weekend in their church located at 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell. The annual concert features internationally renowned conductor Rev. Alphonse Stephenson and his full symphony orchestra. The performance will run from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on Sunday, Dec. 12.
Rev. Alphonse Stephenson
Ordained a Catholic priest for the Diocese of Paterson in 1975, Stephenson formed his first orchestra at the "Actor's Chapel," St. Malachy's, in New York's theater district. His conducting debut was with the Metropolitan Opera and in 1980, the late Broadway director and choreographer Michael Bennett engaged the priest as conductor and music director of his hit, A Chorus Line. Stephenson went on to conduct over three thousand performances of the record-breaking musical.
Recently retired as Chaplain, Brigadier General and Director of the Joint Chaplaincy Staff at the National Guard Bureau, Stephenson also served as Air National Guard Assistant to the Air Force Chief of Chaplains at the Pentagon.
Tickets are available during business hours at the parish office and, if still available, will be for sale at the door.
