WEST CALDWELL, NJ - In August, the West Caldwell Public Library will be hosting a book and film discussion centered around Cormac McCarthy’s harrowing novel "No Country for Old Men.” As the library continues its "Heroes and Antiheroes in Literature and Film" summer reading series, readers are invited to read McCarthy's novel (copies are available at the Reference Desk) and are also welcome to come to the library and view the book's Academy award-winning film Best Picture film. Immediately following the movie there will be a lively discussion of the book and film and light refreshments will be served. The free event takes place on Wednesday, July 15, at 5:30pm in the library's Community Room.
In order to prepare for its guests, the library requests that those attending let them know in advance. Those interested should call 973-226-5441 or sign-up online here. The library is located at 30 Clinton Road, West Caldwell.
"No Country for Old Men"
Starring Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, "No Country for Old Men" tells the tale of rural Texas, where welder and hunter Llewelyn Moss discovers the remains of several drug runners who have killed each other in an exchange gone violently wrong. Rather than report the discovery to the police, Moss decides to keep the two million dollars he finds for himself - putting the psychopathic killer, Anton Chigurh, on his trail.
