St. Aloysius Hosts "Fair Trade Sale," 7:30am to 7:30pm, Sunday, Dec. 7; 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell
CALDWELL, NJ - Saint Aloysius Parish is hosting their annual "Fair Trade Sale and Catholic Book Sale" this weekend in their gymnasium, located at 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell.
Certified Fair Trade goods come from farmers and workers who are justly compensated and the practice in turn helps farmers in developing countries build sustainable businesses that positively influence their communities. The event runs from 7:30am to 7:30pm, Sunday, Dec. 7.
Fair Trade is based on respecting the life and dignity of the human person. It represents an alternative approach to trading that is rooted in a commitment to cherish and uphold the sacredness and dignity of every person. Fair Trade ensures that artisans and farmers and workers in the Fair Trade system are paid fairly,
regardless of what might be happening to their counterpart in the conventional economy. Fair Trade companies purchase Fair Trade items as directly as possible from the people who created them to help ensure that they are not exploited by predatory intermediaries. It promotes mutually respectful long-term trading relationships with disadvantaged producers around the world.
