Published 3pm NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - This weekend, the North Caldwell Fire Department is inviting the West Essex community to celebrate the recent arrival of two new members of their rescue fleet - the 2015 Pierce Rescue / Pumper "Engine No. 4" - and their new Initial Attack Vehicle. The department is hosting a "Dual Wetdown" on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 2pm to 10pm. The free event will be held at their firehouse, located at 134 Gould Avenue, North Caldwell, and all are welcome. FOOD/ DRINK COST Tickets are not required for the occasion; for those interested, food and beverages will be available for purchase. In addition, there will be entertainment from a DJ.
![]() A wetdown is a ritual celebrated by many rescue departments during which a new vehicle is put into commission by anointing it with water sprayed by another rescue apparatus. At Saturday's wetdown, the traditional hose fights are expected to take place as neighboring fire departments arrive to anoint the new engine. All guests will be able to get a closer look inside the vehicle as well. Additional, the department will be awarding prizes to the fire department which does the following:

Husband and wife team local Theatre educators David and Jensyn Modero lead the cast of 35 from Essex, Union, and Middlesex counties. The cast is comprised of a mix of elementary, middle, high school and college students from theatre programs across the state along with seasoned professionals. The company's past theatrical productions have included Hairspray, Annie, Godspell, Bye Bye Birdie, Charlie Brown, Seussical the Musical and last year's performance of Cats. Just Off Broadway Productions is an educational and community theatre organization sponsored by St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Elizabeth. Disney's "High School Musical" Considered a modern adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, "High School Musical" presents the story of two high school juniors from rival cliques. One an athlete, Troy Bolton, and the other a shy transfer student, Gabriella Montez, who excels at academics. The American Alliance for Theatre and Education This year, the production’s community outreach focuses on advocating for Theatre Education which emphasizes that access to quality arts education experiences is a vital component to educating youth in the public school system. Onstage and off, cast and crewmembers are moved by the ability to create theatre together and remember their own school theatre experiences. All are welcome at the free event which takes place Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Grover Cleveland Park which is located at Brookside Avenue in Caldwell. The Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy worked closely with the County to offer Tuesday's concert; new volunteers are always welcome.
