FAIRFIELD, NJ - On Monday, the Fairfield Police Department announced the arrest of two women - Juan Li, 36, of West Orange and Taozhu Li, 52, of Flushing, NY - for promoting and engaging in prostitution. The police had received a call on Nov. 14 from a concerned citizen who suspected illegal activities were occurring at a business, which was unnamed, located at 124 Little Falls Road, Fairfield.
That afternoon, Fairfield detectives sent an undercover officer into the establishment to determine if it was engaging in unlicensed massage therapy and prostitution. As a result of the investigation, Fairfield detectives raided the location and made the arrests. It was determined the business had only been open for several weeks.
“This business was only operating for a few weeks before it came onto our radar and was closed down” said Deputy Chief Anthony Manna.

Both individuals were eventually released on their own recognizance pending an initial court appearance date of Nov. 20 in the Superior Court in Newark. According to Manna, enforcement relating to the operation of a massage parlor in alleged violation of Fairfield local ordinance was referred to the Township’s zoning official.
