Tuesday Evening, Caldwell Officers Zeichner, Adamo and Sergeant Pellegrino Arrest Armed Caldwell Resident, Derrick Johnson, 19, for Distribution and Possession of Drugs
CALDWELL, NJ - On Tuesday evening just before 11pm, Caldwell Police
Officers Greg Zeichner, Nicholas Adamo and Sergeant Michael Pellegrino were dispatched to a Roseland Avenue residence on reports of a suspicious individual. The officers arrived and identified the male as Derrick Johnson, 19, of Caldwell. After further investigation, Johnson was arrested.
Johnson was charged with the following offenses:
Johnson was transported to the Caldwell Police Department and is currently being held on $25,000.00 bail.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ - At the Tuesday, Nov. 25 meeting of the West Caldwell governing body, Mayor Joe Tempesta, Jr. and West Caldwell Police Chief Michael J. Bramhall welcomed two police officers to the township's force, bringing the total number of officers to 27. Robert Redmerski, 26, of Verona, and Steven Huster, 26, of Hawthorne, were sworn in by Tempesta in front of their family and about 20 members of the police department.
Huster is a 2010 graduate of Rowan University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Justice Studies. He served as the president of his class at the Passaic Police Academy and graduated from there on Sept. 8.
Redmerski is a graduate of West Virginia University and holds a Master’s Degree in
Administration Leadership from Central Michigan University. After his studies, he then went on to serve for three-and-a-half years in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the 3rd Squadron 89th Cavalry Regiment within the 10th Mountain Division. Redmerski was honorably discharged in June, 2014, and will graduate from the Union County John H. Stamler Police Academy on Dec. 10.
Both officers participated in the Alternate Route Training Program offered through their respective academies. They will begin their employment at a salary of $45,228 and will be assigned to senior officers for a training program for about three months.
