Fairfield Police Officer Frank Tracey Charges Driver with DUI After Car Crashes through Crown Plaza Hotel

FAIRFIELD, NJ - Early Saturday morning on Route 46 East, Fairfield Police arrested James Feeny, 52, of Hackettstown, and charged him with Driving Under the Influence. Police were first notified at about 2:53am by Crown Plaza Hotel security that Feeny had reportedly crashed his black 2013 Ford through the glass door of the hotel's attached office building, drove it through the first floor hallway, then crashed it again through glass doors into the parking lot on the other end of the hotel, and sped away onto Route 46.
Officer Frank Tracey and his fellow officers arrived on the scene, located the car on Route 46, and stopped the vehicle allegedly being operated by Feeny.
According to Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna, officers noted that the car had fresh damages which included:
Fairfield Police allege that Feeny "displayed signs and symptoms consistent with being under the influence." After taking sobriety tests, Feeny was placed under arrest and charged with other motor vehicle summonses. Manna reported that Feeny’s blood alcohol concentration was tested to be nearly twice the legal limit.
Feeny reportedly denied any knowledge of having driven through the Hotel.
