An approaching low pressure system will bring another round of moderate to heavy rain beginning this afternoon, and continuing into tonight.
Given the rainfall today and the recent heavy rainfall of Saturday, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Northeast New Jersey,
Rain could be heavy at times. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tuesday
Dry and brisk conditions will return for Tuesday into mid week as the low departs to the northeast.

This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.8' on Apr. 4, 2005. On that date it was the worst flooding to hit the region in 50 years.
The flooding, which was caused by heavy rains and snow melt along the Passaic River in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, lasted from April 1 to April 6, 2005. New Jersey's damage was extensive: 6,000 people were displaced and 3,200 homes were damaged.
The overall flooding damage cost thirty million dollars.
