As growing concern mounts over the threat of an oncoming second wave, it can be helpful to watch the case reports of New Jersey's most recent hospitalizations and note how they compare overall to past case numbers. It's also significant to track the reports of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), along with those within the ICU who have their breathing assisted through the use of a ventilator oxygen pump.
The state's hospitalizations did begin to lessen by the second week of August, and didn't begin to grow again until the infection increased throughout the state at the start of October.
The last 8-weeks show that the rate of hospitalization is increasing.
Over time, this article will be updated to reflect new tracking information. New Jersey reports its hospitalization information daily on the state's Covid-19 Information Hub Dashboard.
