Published 11:53am WEST CALDWELL, NJ - West Caldwell Mayor Joseph Tempesta announced this week that the township will be making improvements to the Essex Valley School's playing field in the upcoming year. All municipalities in Essex County were awarded a $150,000 Open Space Grant from the county’s Open Space Committee and Tempesta confirmed that the township will be using these funds to pay for the upgrades. “This grant will go a long way in assisting the township in upgrading our fields, Joining the mayor in receiving the check was Councilman Michael Docteroff and Community Recreation Liaison Kathy Canale. Tempesta stated, "Canale and Docteroff were instrumental The project to upgrade the Essex Valley School field is expected to begin in the spring or summer of 2015 and should be completed and ready for use by fall of 2015.
