ESSEX COUNTY SHERIFF FONTOURA TESTS POSITIVE
Tuesday, Mar. 31
In an emotional interview yesterday afternoon, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura announced to NJTV that he tested positive over the weekend. He's currently home isolating.
"I'm down, I feel terrible. I want to be out there with my people.
But hopefully I'll be out there soon."
Fontoura spoke out to make sure the public is aware how Law Enforcement is continuing to put themselves into danger:
"We're not looking for sympathy but we just want the public to understand that we are certainly as vulnerable as everyone else is, if not more so, because we are coming into contact with the situation."
