essex county distributing $3.15 Million Grants for municipal park improvements
Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced that each of the 21 municipalities in the county will be receiving grant monies to improve their local parks. The $3,150,000 has come through the Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund which was created in 1998; this grant distribution marks the sixth time since 2003 that the Fund was used to benefit local parks.
Each of the 22 towns in Essex County were eligible to apply in 2019 to receive a $150,000 grant to help fund their local park improvement project without any need for the town to provide matching funds. Essex Fells did not submit an application.
Caldwell and West Caldwell are merging their grants for the Harrison School Field improvement project.
