WEST CALDWELL / ESSEX FELLS - Deerfield Road near Runnymede and Egan Field
At about 3:25am this morning West Caldwell Police Department responded to reports of a backyard electrical fire on Deerfield Road. A tree, located in the rear woody area of the yard, had come down on top of utility wires.
The West Caldwell Fire Department and Essex Fells Fire Department both responded to attend to a live wire which caused a small fire on the ground.

The vehicles burglarized were unlocked and items were stolen. Please remember to lock your cars and remove all valuables from them. "After conferring with the Essex County Prosecutors Office, the driver was charged with a number of motor vehicle violations. He was then released pending a mandatory court appearance. Additional motor vehicle charges are pending. The cause of the accident is still under investigation."
