![]() Because the storm is expected to impede transportation and travel throughout the state, Governor Chris Christie has declared a State of Emergency. The executive order authorizes the State Director of Emergency Management to activate all county and municipal emergency operations and governmental agencies to respond to the snowstorm. The order empowers State Police, if necessary, to detour any road and to remove any parked or abandoned vehicles. Commuters are asked to use extreme caution while traveling across the state. ![]() Winter Storm Warning At 7am Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for northeast New Jersey, including West Essex. The Warning is expected to be in effect through 1am Thursday morning.
