Flash Flooding, Thunderstorms and Heat Index of 93°; West Essex Area Weather for Thursday, July 37/3/2014
The temperature went up to 93° on Wednesday with a Heat Index of 101° The current temperature is 79° Severe Thunderstorm Warning At 7:30pm Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeast New Jersey, including West Essex. The Warning is expected to be in effect until 10pm Thursday evening. ![]()

FLOOD WATCH At 4:16pm Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for northeast New Jersey, including West Essex. The Watch is expected to be in effect from Thursday morning until Friday morning. The advisory was issued due to the forecast for heavy rains and the ensuing potential for flooding of small streams. West Essex NOW will continue to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. ![]() 9am to 12pm
