The widely supported community event allows strollers to view and purchase fine art, photography, sculpture and (juried) fine art crafts while walking along both sides of Bloomfield Avenue. The free event will take place Saturday, May 30, from 10am to 5pm.
Last year fifty-eight artists participated and over $1100 in prizes were awarded in the categories of fine art, photography and sculpture after being chosen by professional judges. While many participants are well known in their fields, Art on the Avenue is open to new artists as well. There is also a student's art contest, open to all elementary through high school age students from schools in the surrounding West Essex towns.
En Plein Air Artists
Fencing is provided for artists to display their work, but several en plein air artists will be painting along the Avenue while the exhibit takes place.
