![]() Feral Cat Community Outreach Just Off Broadway Productions is an educational and community theatre organization sponsored by St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Elizabeth. As part of the theatre program, the Just Off Broadway Productions crew is educating the public on local pet adoption opportunities and Feral Cat Rescue. Feral cats are domestic cats that live outside but are not socialized to humans and, therefore, not adoptable. They are not like wildlife that fend for themselves; instead they depend on humans for food and shelter. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is an effective and humane approach to taking care of feral cat populations. Feral cats are safely trapped and taken to a vet or clinic where they are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and ear-tipped (the universal symbol of a neutered and vaccinated cat). Kittens and socialized cats (cats that are friendly to humans) are placed into foster and loving homes. Healthy, adult feral cats (cats that are fearful of humans) are returned to the same site (community) where they were trapped and where volunteers will continue to provide food, water and shelter during inclement and cold weather.
