"Verona Police Officers are still visiting the schools
with the same strength and enthusiasm as they did when it began," commented Ed Carattini Jr., State Delegate for the PBA. 
"They left their uniforms hanging neatly in their lockers for the day and instead put on the most cheerful and
creative costumes that they could find."

"The Costume Trip is perhaps the longest running tradition
that the PBA participates in, and I am very proud
to be a part of something so special." expressed Shafer.
"It gives us a chance to get together and
make all these children smile and laugh.
Seeing how happy the kids get
definitely sets the mood for the rest of the holiday season.”

VERONA, NJ - Hoping to encourage early detection to fight against Breast Cancer, Verona PBA Local 72 will be raising awareness by prominently displaying pink accessories with their uniforms throughout the month of October. The initiative began with Verona Officer Robert Shafer, a PBA member who is encouraging his co-workers to make the most out of their community visibility.

“We are out there every day, patrolling the streets,
helping people, driving in marked police cars, in full uniform.
We are hard to miss”, said Shafer.
​“We can use that visibility to get a message out there.”

Verona PBA President Anthony Condorelli said,
“We want to do our part to raise awareness,
so when Brother Shafer came up with this great idea,
the members couldn’t wait to get the accessories
and get started with this campaign.
It’s a great way to get the message of early detection
​out there to our community."

“The members of Verona PBA Local 72 are
constantly looking for new ways to help people and
​raise money for worthy causes," commented Stern.
"The police department is glad to be a part of the program.”
