Nan was born in Newark to Alistair and Mona Anderson. She lived most of her life in West Caldwell where she and her husband, Robert Rame', raised a family. Nan worked as a librarian with the Belleville Public Library and later with the Clara Maass Nursing School, also in Belleville.

The memorial arrangements for Nan Anderson Rame' are as follows:
- Saturday, Jan. 24 POSTPONED
- Due to the forecasted inclement weather, Nan Ramé's funeral has been postponed to a future date
"Fortunately for Nan, she was an avid reader,
especially detective novels," a family member commented.
