Jim was born in Orange to Walter and Roberta Brown. He attended Saint Benedicts Preparatory School and graduated from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. After serving in the US Army, he married Patricia Thomas and they raised their family in West Caldwell.
For 30 years, Jim was a Vice President of Sales with CECO Corporation and then moved to Scandia Corporation in Fairfield from where he retired in 2010. Jim was well-known in the community: he was a longtime member of St. Aloysius Church, Past President of the Jaycees and past Chairman of the Boys Scouts Troop 9.
"Jim was always the life of the party," a family member commented.
"He loved golf, his New York Giants, watching Fox News
and most especially, he loved spending time with his family.
The past 12 years were a gift of life,
after he was the recipient of a live liver transplant from his daughter, Beth."
