![]() LIVINGSTON, NJ - The family of Brendan Patrick Tevlin, on Livingston, has announced his sudden passing. Brendan's family and friends are deeply saddened by their loss and the community will mourn his absence. Brendan was born and raised in Livingston. In 2013, he graduated from Seton Hall Preparatory School where he was an active member of the student body. Brendan participated on the Lacrosse Team, the Ambassador's Club, the Knights of Setonia, the Math and Spanish Honor Societies and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. In addition, Brendan's time at the Prep was also well-remembered by his role as President of the Gaelic Club and as being the recipient of the Monsignor Tuohy Award for having achieved a GPA of over 4.0 for all four years at Seton Hall. Brendan Tevlin just turned 19 in May and had completed his freshman year at the University of Richmond where he was a member of the Lacrosse Club. Brendan's life revolved around his family, his friends and he was a well-loved member of the Irish community. As a talented bagpiper, he often played with the Essex County Shillelagh Pipes and Drums for parades, community events and Irish gatherings. Brendan also enjoyed summers with family and friends in Lavallette where he was an avid surfer. On Friday evening, members of the Irish community gathered at the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Club in West Orange where Brendan and his family gathered for social events for all of his life. Friday's gathering included a step dance tribute from family and friends who celebrated Brendan's life as well as a loving pipes and drums display from musicians saluting Brendan's spirit.
