As schools and sporting groups continue to attempt to navigate the complexities of the effect of coronavirus on local communities, it's becoming very clear that Covid-19 is highly contagious and can lead to serious illness and death in persons of all ages.

Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome
in Children

Currently 114 children in New Jersey have been diagnosed with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C), the rare, highly aggressive disorder which affects children's organs and tissues following their exposure to Covid-19. To examine a representation of those cases throughout the state of New Jersey, see Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome Cases In New Jersey Children And Adolescents. 

Currently, 14 of those MIS-C cases have been in Essex County.
